Intro to EOS®
EOS stands for Entrepreneurial Operating System. Don’t let the name turn you away! Simply stated, an operating system is what enables us to do many different tasks efficiently. If you know how to use a cell phone, you’ve learned how to use its operating system – whether an Android OS or a Mac iOS.
EOS is a set of simple, practical, real-world tools to help Populist’s owners and leadership team strengthen our business, help us to grow responsibly, and make sure everyone on the Populist team understands their role and the part they play in the business’s success.
The program focuses on strategy and management principles which help:
- See the best way of doing what we want to do
- Keep control of our business
- Make fewer mistakes along the way
So, to begin our explanation of EOS, here are six key components:
Vision – Everyone at Populist Cleaning Co needs to be on the same page. Our entire team needs to know where the business is going and how we’re planning to get there – all rowing in the same direction so to speak.
People – We can’t achieve great vision without great people: In EOS, “great people” are the right people in the right seats.
Data – Too many businesses run on subjectives, personalities, opinions, and egos. Instead, we strive to manage Populist through the right data to have a predictive and absolute pulse on our business.
Issues – We’ll become excellent at solving the obstacles, barriers, and problems the arise, making sure that issues disappear for the long-term rather than temporarily.
Process – We’ll systemize our business by identifying and documenting all core processes. These define the way we run Populist, our company structure, creating consistency and scalability.
Traction – Traction is all about executing what is most important at Populist. This step allows us to bring discipline and accountability to everyone on our team. Everyone should know how and what they’re supposed to be doing.
In summary, EOS is a simple framework for defining what’s important, who owns it, and exactly what success looks like. With every member of our team accountable for a handful of goals and numbers, we’re on our way to getting consistently better results.
Quality partnering matters!
