Avoiding mishaps with trash bags

Trash Removal
- Always wear proper PPE, gloves
- Remove all trash from trash containers and all garbage (boxes, etc.) that is marked as trash or located in a designated place for trash.
- Pull trash bag up from can using the outside rim of the bag and hold the bag away from your body. Sinch the bag to the middle being careful not to tear the bag or to touch the bag to yourself. Tie as appropriate and place the garbage into a proper container. See Letter C. If no container is available, place a new trash bag on the floor under the trash bag and discard the trash bag when trash is removed.
- Never Push the trash down into a can with your hands. Use a broom or mop handle to compress and remove air, if needed.
- Transport all discarded trash into a proper container until the trash is finally discarded into the dumpster.
- Proper containers:
- Maid’s cart
- Rolling barrel
- Gondola
- Other: A transport that is of hard, pierce resistant material that can contain garbage and mitigate leaks, loose trash, and the danger of sharp objects. i.e. rolling pushcart.
- This Procedure is to avoid leaking bags and soiling the environment.
- Proper containers:

Hi there! Please watch the video, then review the article below to get the details on the E.O.S. Process Component at Populist.
The E.O.S Process Component

Our biannual employee survey is happening this week – from Friday, October 27th to Friday, November 3rd! Please keep an eye out for your link to this brief survey. One response entry per person. All team members over 30 days of employment (hired before Sept 28th) will be eligible to participate.
We need your input to keep Populist moving forward responsibly!

The EOS Component: Process
We’ve already laid the framework for our great Vision, how we surround ourselves with great People, how to actually solve Issues, and getting a handle on the very pulse of the company through our Data.
This month’s Culture Corner is about the EOS Process Component.
We all work hard to do our best, and we each have ownership over our tasks. Most of us have a system that allows us to standardize our quality. For example:
- You set the spray bottle here, not there.
- You fold our rags this way, not that way.
- You enter through this door and clean a certain way.
- You enter a bathroom and have a certain routine you follow.
- You file paperwork this way, not that.
This is what EOS calls a “process,” and it’s our organization’s secret ingredient. We are all process-oriented people, whether we know it or not. It can be easy to think that what we’re doing is obvious or the common sense way to do it, but that’s rarely the case. The EOS Process Component ensures that everyone is moving in the same direction and using the same methods.
We document 6-10 core processes, which include HR, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Administration, and Operations. The Process Component involves identifying, simplifying, and documenting these core processes and getting everyone to follow them.
It’s critical to have the right people in the right seats, all seeing the same vision, all held to the same metrics, and feeling comfortable speaking up with ideas or concerns. But if no one is following the same processes, it’s like rowing a boat with one paddle. We’re keeping busy, but we’re not getting anywhere fast.
So yes, of course, we all know what we’re doing, and yes, you are good at what you do. But the next time you’re asked to follow a process, please understand that we all follow the same process.
Until next time, Team, have a great month!
