Cleaning is one of the most important industries in the world, yet most of the people performing this important work are invisible to the businesses they service.
Every day, tens of thousands of skilled, hard working cleaning staff are on-site to ensure their buildings are ready to go for the next business day. Cleaners work day, night, and weekends to keep working and living environments clean, safe, and hygienic – often outside of normal working hours.
Did you know we now have our own special day?
Thank Your Cleaner Day™ recognizes the hard work cleaners do and lets them know they are valued and appreciated. This year’s Thank Your Cleaner Day™ will be held on October 18th 2023. Companies around the world that are cleaned and maintained by cleaning contractors, will be supporting Thank Your Cleaner Day™.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you, our faithful family of cleaners! We recognize and value your hard work. We want you to understand your vital contribution to our customers’ businesses.
We all benefit from being valued and appreciated. Acknowledging and sharing our appreciation for the hard work and commitment of our entire Populist Team boosts morale and fosters positive relationships in an industry often looked down upon and made fun of. Worldwide Thank Your Cleaner Day™ was organized to do just that!

Hi there! Please watch the video, then review the article below to get the details on the E.O.S. Issues Component at Populist.
The E.O.S Issues Component

Fall beckons as we say goodbye to summer. This means our biannual employee survey is just around the corner. Please keep an eye out for your link to this brief survey. We need your input to keep Populist moving forward responsibly!

The EOS Component: Issues
We’ve already laid the framework for our great Vision, how we surround ourselves with great People, and getting a handle on the very pulse of the company through our Data.
This month, I’d like to talk about the Issues component. The only business that doesn’t have issues is the one already out of business. The first step to handling any issues is to acknowledge they exist. Issues are not always negative and can be positive or simply an awareness to be sure everyone understands what’s going on.
With strong Vision, People, and Data components, we create an environment where it is not only OK, but it is expected, for people to put their hand up and say, “We have an issue here, and we need to do something about it!”
Not only do we acknowledge our issues, but we work hard to get to the root causes of them. This process is nicknamed IDS, which stands for Identify, Discuss, and Solve. Let’s briefly go over this process.
- First, we’ll identify the issue, get to the root of the problem, and be able to clearly state what the real issue is.
- Next, we’ll have a discussion, which means everyone has a chance to say everything that needs to be said about the issue.
- Last, but not least, we move to solving the issue. This is the final step, which usually becomes an action item assigned for someone to complete.
Every business has issues, and here at Populist, we are not afraid to admit them, better yet we’re rewarded for noticing them. So the next time you have an issue, idea, suggestion, or even a simple comment, please let your Supervisor or Manager know.
