Steve Hamil, Populist Cleaning Co Director of Operations

The Populist Leadership Team is pleased to announce that Steve Hamil has joined us as our Director of Operations.

We’re excited to add Steve to our operations team. He brings us 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in the commercial cleaning and janitorial industry. Most recently he served as Director of Operations for ABM Onsite Services at the 3.5 million sq. ft. GM Renaissance Center in Detroit.

Steve has also worked in related industries in a variety of quality roles all of which include critical leadership and management responsibilities. He is an outstanding communicator with a passion for coaching, mentoring, training, conflict resolution, and guidance.

He shares, “The Populist mission statement and core values, which emphasizes personal and professional growth, really resonate with me. I want to be in a place where I can make a difference. Not only that, but where I’ll be challenged, as well.”

As Director of Operations at Populist, he’ll lead, manage, and mentor all Area Managers; be responsible for the financial performance of all operations; maintain job safety and ensure OSHA compliance; facilitate weekly L10 meeting, one-on-ones, Quarterly Conversations and Scorecard management with all direct reports. He’ll also spearhead leadership, management, and accountability for all Branch Managers and Special Projects Managers.

When you meet Steve, be sure to ask him about his travels in Canada and South America, coffee, and playing the trombone!
